Why is Organisational Change Management So Important?
I’ve heard it said that Project Management is about readying a new solution for an organisation, but Change Management is about readying an organisation for a new solution.
To me, there’s no point having a Project Manager deliver you a new car (a new solution) if all the drivers don’t know how to drive it, where they are driving to, or why it’s better than the last car they had.
That’s where the Change Manager adds value: planning & supporting the people-side of organisational change.
Historically, Change Managers have predominantly been for the big end of town, but my focus is on brining change management skills & development options to small- to medium-sized organizations that normally can’t afford a full-time Change Manager.
